Ever since the gixxer series has launched, it created a new craze among the 150cc segment. A new fan base was made by Suzuki. In Bangladeshi market we were hearing a news that new edition of Gixxer series is about to arrive, which was launched earlier in India. Therefore, all the Gixxer and Suzuki lovers were waiting for the new era and finally the much awaited all new Gixxer series arrived in our local market. “Born of Greatness” with this tagline Suzuki launched all new Gixxer and Gixxer SF. New looks, new technology and design, all makes those bike hot topic. In this article we not going to start with the naked model Gixxer, instead of that we will talk about the newly added features of Gixxer SF Fi ABS. as we mentioned newly added features, here you can see already two new things added with the name. Lot more new things are here, so, let us jump into it.

Design and graphics:

Well, for this new Gixxer SF the manufacturer company given their best shot. Now it feels real sporty and it happens because of the Aerodynamic Design with new body dimension. Clip on handle bars, spilt seat, newly designed twin muffler, newly placed design of Front and rear lights, and the rear tire hugger give this bike completely new attraction than the previous models. Color schemes that have been used for this new SF are very worthwhile and the best part is the newly added Moto GP edition with ECSTAR sticker gives this bike the real Moto GP track feelings. On the other side, glossy color shades for other variants also very eye catching.

Engine and transmission:

Suzuki has come up with their SEP (Suzuki Eco performance) technology mane years back, but now they included the Fuel injection technology to offer the best they can on their bikes. New Suzuki Gixxer SF though has a carburetor version as well, but the main attraction is with the Fi engine. Advanced Fuel Injection technology is equipped with 6 sensors to calculate the optimum amount of fuel to be injected for better combustion efficiency, thereby improving fuel efficiency and providing accurate throttle response at all RPM to make your every ride even more exciting. Both the versions have same engine configurations except the slight change of technology. Gixxer SF Fi edition comes with 155cc 4-Stroke,1-Cylinder, Air cooled engine that can produce 14.1 PS max power @ 8000 RPM and 14 NM max torque @ 6000 RPM. Multi plate 5 speed gear transmission box is mated with both Fi and carburetor version. Bore x Stroke for this new engine is set 56.0 x 62.9 mm. for firing up the engine it has electric starting options only.

Body dimensions:

If we look down on to the dimensions we will have, 2030 mm overall length, 780 mm overall width and 1130 mm overall height. Wheelbase for this bike is set 1340 mm and the ground clearance 165 mm. the saddle height is 800mm and it has a 12L fuel tanker with it. Combining all the dimensions Gixxer SF contains 136 KG kerb weight.

Suspensions and brakes:

A little bit purgation is noticed at this bikes suspension side. Stiffer Telescopic, Coil Spring, Oil Damped suspension is placed on the front side, and the for the rear side Suzuki has used Swing Arm, Mono Suspension.

Now if we look down into the braking side, real attraction of this bike will be seen. Now the Gixxer series has ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) with it, which automatically controls the braking force efficiently and avoids wheel lock up due to slippery road, and sudden change of road conditions. Though single channel ABS but it is far more efficient than before. For the front side Suzuki placed Disc brakes with ABS and rear side is again loaded with Disc plates.

Tyres and Wheel:

Suzuki always tries to provide the well gripped and long lasting tyres for their bikes and they didn’t make any mistakes to do so for this new SF as well. For the front tyres new Gixxer SF has 100/80-17-Tubeless tires and for the rear side 140/60R-17-Radial Tubeless tires. As we can see both side 17 inch wheels are placed for these tubeless wider tyres, and most importantly they are newly designed alloys, which ensures quality and endurance.

Electrical and Meter cluster:

Some upgrades at these two sides are also noticed in this new Gixxer SF. Now the newly designed Headlamp and rear lamp comes with LED power force. Clear lens Turn lights are placed and the maintenance free 12 V-3Ah battery will take care of all these new electrical features smoothly.
Fully digital instrumentation is seen at this bike from before and the new model even has the better looking meter cluster. All-important features are seen here and rider will not have any problems while riding.

Verdict:

We already mentioned earlier that these new Gixxer models has a Moto GP edition, which is the best attraction, but another two color schemes are also available. According to Suzuki the Metallic sonic silver is the only production at this segment, no one else has this color scheme for their bikes. Other hand, glass sparkle black is the other color variant for this new SF. Hope we mentioned all the necessary features you guys would like to know about this bike. It seems, really the Born of greatness is appeared, now the rest is up to the performance.
