TVS Apache RTR 160 4v user review by Sezan Rupom
TVS Apache RTR 4V recently launches in Bangladeshi market and I am using this bike which is newly decorated with the 4V technology. It’s not a big gap to purchase this motorcycle and this why I am introducing my bike in the lite experience with this one. My name is Sezan Rupom I am to introduce my bike with all of its good and bad sides.
I think it is good to mention the reasons behind purchasing TVS Apache RTR 4V. One of my Indian friends uses the same bike who studied with me in the school when he was in Bangladesh. My used TVS Apache RTR 4V in India and his brother uses Suzuki Gixxer. I ask for advice from them that which one is going to be bet for me in the reasonable price? My friends brother told me that, I should avoid Gixxer and go with RTR 4V why because this latest technology has – 4 valve oil cooled engine, Full digital meter, Monoshock suspension, Double disc, Wide tyres and many more exciting parts and technology. He just advice me to take this one without any hesitation and by measuring all these, I don’t take much time to made my decision. I paid a visit to the Sakura Enterprise with a view to purchase and took TVS Apache RTR 4V to my home.
On the matter of design this bike is the best one in my point of view. From the part of front tyre, headlamp, LED tail lamp, color combination, fuel tank and also others parts design is very much excellent and exception in my opinion.
When I sit over the seating position I feel like I am sitting on the FZS why because, seating position and the handlebar has excellent combination. On the others bike of 150cc or 165cc has very sating position for the pillion but this RTR 4V has perfect size and height for the pillion. This is quite remarkable side of this motorcycle.
I found the headlamp quite sharp to have the clear view like day light in night. I always had the extra comfort to ride this motorcycle in night same time, its parking light always remain on and this why its look is look like exceptional and nice from others bike. I don’t think that I am going to have such clear light even after using LED light.
Engine is very nice and clean so far. I can’t sense any vibration on the 6000 RPM, as because I am on the break in period still now so I have to wait till ending the break in period then this will be clear if there any vibration or not in 6000 RPM. I have ridden the RTR of previous versions but this new 4V technology’s RTR’s is neat and clean to me so far in which I can’t sense any vibration so far. Same time, the throttle response is just amazing to mention. I can pick up the speed of 60 kilometers per hour in very short time. Engine is overheating litely but technician told me that this problem will be ok just after having the service. Exhaust has wholly different and deep sound which makes an extra attraction to the engine and make me feel like to ride it whole day long.
Its Monoshock suspension is totally different from those bikes which I have ridden so far. I have ridden FZS on rough and tough road condition where I felt shaking of the rough road. At the same time, Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar NS’s suspension is softer then RTR 4V and this is the reason I think I am having comfortable and smooth performance from my TVS Apache RTR 4V from those bikes even on the rough and tough road condition.
Tyres grip are good enough in all short of road condition but the part I liked most is the size of the tyres. These are not so wide and not so thin. I think this size of tyre is just perfect in the road condition of Bangladesh. I pull the breaks hard over the wet road to test the grip and I can’t sense any skidding in my bike.
I have better experience while cornering from the previous RTR. As to say about the breaking system, it is good enough. I have checked the meter console that ABS is written on it again I heard that, its breaking system works like ABS on the emergency conditions. This is better to mention that I have checked its breaking system just to make sure its breaking and balance where I found it exactly perfect and I am not in hesitation to mention that if I done the same with my previous RTR then there is no way but to fall roughly. That means breaking system support very nice and finely.
Currently I am having the mileage of 35 kilometers per liter. But service center told me that this will serve the mileage of 40 – 45 kilometers per liter. I know the fact that every bike serves low mileage in new condition and I took this matter positively of having low mileage. While riding in cities, 40 – 45 kilometers per liter mileage is normal to have. I hope I will have better mileage just after having the first service.
Service centers manager is very much sincere to all the customers and they are cordial enough but the workers working there need to update their behavior I think. I purchased my motorcycle from the Sakura Enterprise and I will serve my motorcycle from the same showroom in future as well.
As to comment on the matter of price? According to the features, performance and quality of this bike I think its price is nicely adjusted from all the aspects in my personal view. Its price is ok and fine according to the local motorcycle market of Bangladesh.
The parts of this bike which can be updated:
-Looking glass is the same like the previous RTR and this is why its look is slightly reduced.
-No sharee guard is placed in this bike and no foot rest in the same place. I think it would have better if a footrest placed on the following position.
-It would have better if the handlebar is little more carved. Others bikes handlebar move more than this one but 4V’s handlebar is not so easy like others motorcycles.
These are all from me on my RTR 4V in my personal view. I think a bikes performance depend on the care of the bikes owner. I always try to take best care of my bike.
