Bajaj Discover 125 Drum User Review 100000km by Hakim Sarkar

My name is Hakim Sarkar, a common man living in the root level of upazila and I needed a motorcycle to make a living. It's not wise to rush to the showroom and pick up what you like or need, but I bought my motorcycle by checking which one will help me the most considering my needs about 11 years ago.

It is worth mentioning that when I decided to buy my motorcycle, Bajaj came to pick up a new Bajaj Discover 125 model, a hot item in their commuter segment, which was somehow robbed by commuter segment customers. Honestly, I noticed some features in this one model that will make it easier for people like me to carry people and goods all day long.
So I did not hesitate to make a decision because the brand is Bajaj which has been doing business in Bangladesh for a long time and if I understand any problem after buying, I don't have to worry about the resale value of my Bajaj Discover 125.

As I mentioned earlier I bought my Bajaj Discover 125 drum bike in 2010 and in these 10-11 years I have ridden my bike more than 1 lakh kilometers. Most of the people who bought bikes with me have changed bikes for many reasons but I still don't feel the need to change my bike and there are many reasons for that.

-I notice a big difference between my Bajaj Discover 125 drum model and the current Bajaj Discover 125 model. One of them is the weight and balance of the bike.
-No matter how fast I want my Bajaj Discover 125 drum model, I never feel like my bike is floating or I can lose control at high speeds, but the recent Bajaj Discover 125 models are really scary. Just as I have come to understand the difference between riding two bikes, those who are using the new Bajaj Discover 125 also appreciate after riding my bike.
-It is good to mention the price. When I bought my Bajaj Discover 125 drum model, I had to buy it for 160,000/- BDT and this same model is being sold in the current market for around 120,000/- BDT. So I think where the difference in price is around 40,000/- BDT there must be a difference in quality.

-After 10-11 years of running a motorcycle, its engine performance will change even a little bit. The reason for saying this is that the engine performance will go bad most of the time but the engine of my bike is currently giving mileage of 50 kilometers per liter or more and the sound of the engine did not seem to change much to me. It is good to say that I change the engine oil every 800 km and this is a part of my regular maintenance which I do according to the rules.

-Since I bought the bike, I have visited Rajshahi-Ishwardi, Rajshahi-Bogra, Rajshahi-Sonamasjid, Rajshahi-Hili countless times where I could not find any shortage in the performance or comfort of the bike. Rather, as a commuter bike, I have always found the comfort of a high segment bike in my Bajaj Discover 125 drum model.

In the last 10-11 years, I have had some problems with my Bajaj Discover 125 drum model and some changes:

- The common problem with the Discover model is the sound of its chain set from which I myself could not be an exception.
- The meter is broken recently and I can't fix it due to lockdown.
- Clutch plate, clutch cable has replaced.
- Changed the tires.
- I have repositioned the seat 2-3 times.
- The self switch is broken, the battery may need to be re-installed.

After 10-11 years of using a motorcycle, these problems don't seem to be a problem for me anymore because how much more can I expect from a normal bike?
In my opinion I have already received enough service from my bike and the service I am getting from now is a bonus for me. More importantly, even after 10-11 years, the performance of my bike is not as good as the current segment of motorcycles in 3-4 years, which I have seen with my own eyes.
I am happier with my Bajaj Discover 125 drum bike than anyone else and I want to keep my bike with me till the last day.
