It is totally legal now to import and sell 165cc bikes all over the country which was limited with the 150cc. Recently the Commerce ministry reviewed the Import law (2015-2018) and gadget release on this matter.

It was about the cc limit which was the main topic of this gadget. Previously it was approved up to 150cc same time, it was totally prohibited to import more then 150cc for the time duration of 2015-2018. which is now increased to the 165cc.

By the good aspect of this law, now we are going to have so many heavy quality bikes on the roads. At the same time, bikes made with modern technology are fuel saver and less harmful for the environment. Meanwhile, the report says more about the law that from now no one can important old bikes which had passed more then 3 years. This will be counted after the date of production of the bike. But the Police department will have the permission to have more then 165cc bikes as well as they can import such bike. They only can use those bikes to make their duties of caught a criminal on the road with a heavy bike.

The importers claiming this permission for a long time and their view is, recently less cc bikes are loosing their attraction to all the bikers. To get along with the world market and the demand, it is necessary to withdraw the cc limit from all the bikes in our country.

According to the research of non-profitable organization known as “Market Research”, each in average bike selling rate in per day is around 2 lakhs and economic numbers of this 300 lakhs BDT. 110Cc bikes selling rate is around 50% among the bikes. On the other hand, 17% of market caught by the 125-135cc and next are the 150cc bikes which got the attention of the bikers and grab a market of 33%.
