TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Smartxconnect Feature review

When it comes to TVS and it is about Bangladeshi market TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is one of the biggest name among their lineup. Not only that this bike is one of the most powerful and well featured motorcycle in 160cc segment. TVS has invested lot of time and effort to build this fantastic peace of machine with the racing DNA. If we mention about the power and throttle response, only a few bike is comparable with 4V. All new refreshed racing aesthetics:

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SMARTXCONNECT continues to carry its racing DNA like the previous generations, but it has new things to offer. In terms of performance this bike has its own response and it shows what it claims. With all new racing decals, graphics, a dual tone seat, and an aggressively designed headlamp with more power this race machine has all it takes to be a part of the track. New duel exhaust design, extra shading at the fuel tanker with the impression of MotoGP flag this bike looks more attractive.


All new high performance radial tyres:

The all new Eurogrip protorq sport SR racing breed tyres are added for this new 4V. This type of tyres will provide enhanced controlling and stability to conquer the cornering with ease.


First time in Bangladesh SMARTXCONNECT:

The all new smart X connect instrument clusters will be operation through Bluetooth. Through a phone the rider can connect viaBluetooth, through which the rider can check the lean angle mode, tour mode, low fuel warning and assist, navigation, race telemetry & crash alert which will send SMS to emergency contracts when the bike senses an incident. Besides this instrument cluster has new add-ons like, gear indicator, white colored display backlight, and readable numbering clock.

Engine and transmission:

The new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SMARTXCONNECT DD comes with a 159.7cc single cylinder 4 valves Oil cooler with ram Air assist engine which will produce 16.5 PS max power @ 8000 RPM & 14.8 NM of Max Torque @ 6500 RPM. This engine doesn’t have any Fi technology, therefore the carburetor fuel supply is available. For the smooth gear transmission this bike will feature a 5 speed gearbox. With a multiple wet clutch system and IDI type ignition system, this engine has both kick and electric starting options. Company claimed max speed performance will be more than 113 KM/H at least.


Dimension:

Aggressiveness means bolder dimension, for the new RTR 4V TVS has used the similar dimension like the old generation 4V. Overall, length, width and height is of this bike remains the same as 2050 mm, 790mm, and 1050mm respectively. 1357mm wheel base and 180mm ground clearance is seen for this bike and that is good enough for both long and city journeys. The saddle height is measured 800mm. 12 liters fuel tank capacity and 2.5 liter reserve tanker continues the smart and bold fuel tanker shape for 4V. TVS has used Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff frame for the new RTR 4V. All of the dimensions makes this bike 145 KG in total, though the single Disc variant will weigh 143 Kg.


Wheel and Tyre:

For the front side of RTR 4V TVs used the same section tyres like the previous model, which is 90/90-17, Tubeless, but for the RearTyre130/70-17, Tubeless Radial tyres are seen. Alloy rims are preferred for this bike.


Brakes and suspensions:

The new 4V has 270mm Petal DiskBrakes for the Front and 200mm Petal DiskBrakes for the rear section. Note one thing, this bike has a single disc variant as well, which is mated with front Disc and rear Drum brakes.
For the suspension side it has same set up like the junior edition. Telescopic oil damped Forkat front and for the rear suspensionMono Shock.


Electrical:

With a new LED set up on both sides this bike has excellent electrical features. 12V, 6AH MF battery is placed for AHO LED headlamp with LED position lamp. The rear section lamps are also LED and the indicators as well.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SMARTXCONNECT DD comes with three different colors like the previous 4V models. Racing RED, Metallic Blue, and Knight Black are the three shades for this new racing machine.
