Why Engine oil Grading is Important?

TIPS-1685181479.jpg

Once upon a time, bike user in Bangladesh was not that much conscious about using engine oil. That is to say, which engine oil or which grade of engine oil should be used and which grade of oil should not be used users would not bother much. From the perspective of Bangladesh still, now users are not that much conscious on the other hand many people are aware of engine oil keeping their bike care in mind.

Today we Team Motorcycle Valley are going to share with you, why engine oil grading is important. I hope you all get a clear concept about this matter.

What is Engine oil grading?
SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) has started the grading system of Engine oil. The main consideration of engine oil in grading is its density and SAE implements a grading system based on these density quality and features. If the density or viscosity of engine oil is high, the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) will show the grading number of that engine oil as high according to its grading system.

For details example, the viscosity or density of engine oil will be determined by a lower number by the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). If the density is lower, it will be considered 10W30, and if it is denser, it will be considered 20W50, or if more density is available, it will be evaluated by a higher number. In our country, engine oil grades 10W30 and 20W50 are seen a little higher.

Which one is best for your bike?
Simply to say, it is better to use the grade of engine oil recommended by your bike's manual book or company. Because a manufacturer company determines the grade of engine oil for its bike based on the engine the bike is made of. For example, the grade of engine oil specified by the Yamaha bike company is 10W40, that is, if you use this grade of engine oil, you will get better performance from the bike and this engine is made by Yamaha. Now if you use a different grade of engine oil various problems may arise. For example – mileage drops, heating issues, gear shifting, and many more, and even some permanent problems with your engine.

Starting from 10W30 to 20W50Mobil, Motul, and ENI engine oils for almost all bikes are available in our market. If you want, you can use the engine oil of Mobil, Motul, and ENI according to the grade of engine oil provided in your bike.

Wrong Concept
Many people say that using 20W50 or 20W40 grade in summer and 10W40 grade in winter is completely wrong because the grading is determined by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and the company grades according to how the engine of their bike will perform, not for summer or winter. So use the engine oil of the same grade as specified in the manual of your bike.
