From now on, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will not register any motorcycle with Bluetooth without the permission of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). In a recent letter, the BRTA said that permission should be sought from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) for marketing motorcycles with Bluetooth and wireless service.
According to the Telecommunications Act of Bangladesh 2001, no wireless equipment can be installed, operated or used without the waves allotted by BTRC.
All the motorcycle manufacturers in the market of Bangladesh have been informed about this in a letter. At present, many bike manufacturers are constantly bringing new bikes to the market keeping in mind the needs of the customers. If companies do not get approval from BTRC to add Bluetooth, Internet of Things, vehicle tracking system or any other wireless device to motorcycles, customers will not be able to get motorcycle registration from BRTA.
So the bikes that will come to the market in Bangladesh in the future and if they have features with Bluetooth, then they must be marketed with the permission of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
