Only 30 km from Rajshahi main city, Puthia Rajbari, Puthia Shiva Temple and Hawakhana are known as a spectacular historical places. In 1895, Empress Hemantakumari Devi built the present rectangular two-storied palace in attractive Indo-European architecture. The pillars of the front of the building, ornaments, woodwork, paintings of flowers and herbs on the walls and doors of the rooms bear the hallmarks of an excellent construction style. The roof of the palace is flat, iron beams, wooden beams and tiles have been used on the roof. Trenches were dug around the palace for security. There are many unknown mysteries surrounding this place. This place is very familiar and popular for bikers. There are no traveler who have come to visit Rajshahi, but did not seen Puthia Rajbari. The number of such travelers is very insignificant. From Rajshahi city, you can easily reach that place with your bike. For this you have to take the Rajshahi - Natore Highway. From Rajshahi city you can go through Bhadra, Talaimari road, or you can take the road from Saheb Bazar to Talaimari. After crossing the Talaimari turn, you will first see Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and then you will see University of Rajshahi. Puthia Bazar after 30 km to go ahead along that road. The road to Puthia Rajbari is on the right hand side when Puthia Bazaar starts. Remember the road on the right hand side at the beginning of Puthia Bazar when going from Rajshahi to Natore and the road on the left hand side when coming from Natore to Rajshahi. There is a mosque adjacent to this road, it can be your identification.

The road leading to the side of this mosque is basically the road to Puthia Rajbari. If you go 1 km along this road, you will see Puthia Shiva Temple at the beginning, which is also known as the largest Shiva temple in Bangladesh, then you will see a huge house titled Puthia Rajbari. There is a huge field in front of Puthia Rajbari. If you are lucky enough Rat Mela will be seen in this field. The ground floor of the two-storey building is arched. There is a staircase to the second floor on the south side of the building. It is known that the members of Puthia Rajbari used to come from Rajbari in chariots or elephants, take a boat ride in the pond and enjoy the open air of the pond. Near around 3 kilometers from Puthia Bazar and almost 500 meters away from Puthia-Rajshahi Highway the Hawakhana is situated.
