Motorcycle is one of the two wheels popular motorbike in the world. It has been using as a medium of transport for almost 100 years. We have seen various types of bike and every bike has own features. According to their features and use motorbike can be divided in several categories.

There is no universal system for classifying all types of motorcycles. Compare with design features and use, six main categories are widely recognized: standard cruiser, sport, touring, dual-purpose,chopper and scooter.

Description of six main categories bike are given below.

Standard Bike: This type of bike is familiar for general use. Design,size of standard bikes are made for general bike user. Flexibility, relatively low cost, and low fuel cost is the main features of standard bike. This types of bike is also known as naked bikes or roadsters.

Cruiser Bike: If you are thinking about long ride with comfort than cruiser bike is perfect for you. Size of this bike is big compare to other bike. This bike has strong engine along with excellent control.

Power Cruiser: is a type of cruiser bike. This model has more powerful engine with upgraded brakes and suspensions, better ground clearance, and premium surface finishes, as well as more exotic or non-traditional styling.

Sports Bike: speed,control and design, are three main features of sports bike. It has strong engine to generate maximum speed within few moment and has excellent braking system to control the speed. And glorious design provides stylist look to their rider.

Touring Bike: This types of bike is made for long distance covering with comfort. It has large-displacement engines, fairings and screens that offer good weather and wind protection following that large-capacity fuel tanks. It provides large space to carry luggage or other things.

Dual-purpose Bike: Dual-purpose bike is also known as Dual-sports or on/off-road motorcycles. From the name we can get an idea about this bike. It can be used for general ride as well as for sports. Look of this bike is almost similar to standard bike but it has high center of gravity and tall seat height, allowing good suspension travel for rough ground. popularity of this types of bike is increasing day by day.

Chopper Bike: Choppers are usually custom projects that result in a bike modified to suit the owner's ideals. It may have small fuel tank, long and high handlebars along with different size front and rear tier. Chopper bike is one type of cruiser bike because generally parts of chopper bike is collected from cruiser bike. No doubt chopper is a stylist bike but in terms of service it is not up to the mark.

Scooter Bike: Usually scooter bike is known as city bike and it is very much popular to women and old person. This types of bike provides enough space to carry market stuffs. It has small size engine than other types of bike. Automatic clutches and continuously variable transmissions (CVT) make them easier to learn and to ride. Wheels of scooter bike is smaller than general bike. So it can control quite comfortably.
