Mobil was primarily introduced as standard Oil Company in New York and then Socony-Vacuum Oil Company which was an American oil company merged with Exxon in 1999 and become ExxonMobil.
Prior to its unification with Exxon, Mobil was one of the Seven Sisters that conquered the global petroleum industry from the mid-1940s until the 1970s. As one of the 34 original companies to descend from the fragmentation of Standard Oil, Mobil was originally known as the Standard Oil Company of New York. Mobil credits itself with being the first company to introduce paying at the pump at its gas stations, as well as the first company to introduce a mobile payment device, today known as Speedpass.
Nowadays, Mobil carry on as a brand name within the united company, as well as still being a gas station sometimes paired with its own store or On the Run. The former Mobil headquarters in Fairfax County, Virginia, was used as ExxonMobil's downstream headquarters until 2015 when ExxonMobil combined employees into a new corporate campus in Spring, Texas. Mobil 1, is one of the premium Mobil oil brand introduced by ExxonMobil, it was introduced in 1974 as a Multi-grade 5W20 viscosity synthetic motor oil. The brand now includes multi-grade motor oils, oil filters, synthetic grease, transmission fluids, and gear lubricants.
The journey of blending world-class lubricants in Bangladesh started in 1998 when Mobil Corporation, later known as Exxon Mobil Corporation, decided to set up Mobil Jamuna Lubricants Limited in partnership with the state-owned Jamuna Oil Company Limited. Bearing in mind, MJL Bangladesh Limited is a joint venture company between EC Securities Limited, a subsidiary of East Coast Group, and state-owned Jamuna Oil Company.They have taken the charges to provide Mobil products in Bangladesh and serve the customers with ultimate satisfaction level.
