Diversifying the uses of E-Driving

There was a time when E-Driving license’s only use was on the road transport and vehicles but right now, the authority has taken some tremendous plan to ensure the maximum uses of the e-driving. As the smart card we use in our day to day life same way, e-driving could be usable told by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority.

These are stated by the standing sections sub secretary of BRTA MD. Monirul Alom signed gazette on Sunday (24th March)
On the statement, it was stated that BRTA deliver e-driving license with QR code. Driver can use e-driving license or hold it on their smart phones and use it just like the regular driving license. Same time, it is also usable on VISA processing, going abroad or recruitment on the jobs.

Same time it was also stated that the QR code on the driving license can step on the database system so it will be easy for one to verify the card holders any information. It will be implemented initially on public interest.

Previous year BRTA faces trouble to deliver driving license. BRTA was in contract with Madraj Security Printers Pvt. Ltd. (MSP) to produce Duel Interface Polycarbonate Smartcard. This contract was signed on 29th July 2020. This company will print smart card driving license till 28th July 2025 from that day. In this period of time, this organization about to print 40 lakhs card. According to the contract, per card printing supposed to cost 300 Taka and 15 Paisa. The whole contract valued on the money 120 Crore and 6 lakh Taka.

It is good to mention that we all were used to use our digital NID/Smart card to verify ourselves especially on government services and others formality. On this process there are so many people who haven’t received their smart cart NID face trouble to take those services. The authority this that e driving will lessen the harassment of a specific class of people.
