Single cradle frame

Single cradle frame

A single cradle frame is also known as a down tube or diamond frame. It is seen to be used more in budget-friendly bikes. This frame mimics the chassis of a bicycle from the other side. Here, the frame serves as a bed for the engine with two tubes attached to the steering head. One is placed on top of the engine and the other (bottom tube) stays down. In some cases, motorcycles that use the downtown frame use the engine as a stressed member. Since this frame is much lighter in weight and less expensive to make, this frame is not very strong. It is not possible to get good balance, cornering, and stability with this frame.
