Novus, a German start-up company, is about to launch an extremely lightweight electric bike. Earlier, the company unveiled the prototype of the first bike at the CES in Las Vegas in 2019. Many pre-orders for this bike have already been completed from the United States and the company will start delivery very soon.
Novus Company's electric bike specializes in its light weight. The whole body frame of this bike and all the equipment like wheel rim, fork are all made of carbon fiber. For this the bike weighs only 7 kilograms. The weight of the bike with battery is 75kg. The use of expensive carbon fiber in making the bike has made it possible for the bike to weight so little. Despite being lightweight, the electric bike can take the weight about 125kg.
Next, let's talk about the specifications of the Novus company's electric bike. This single seater bike has a 18 kW motor that can generate 24 horsepower. The maximum speed of this bike is 120 km per hour and it takes only 3 seconds to go from 0-50 km/h. Once the battery is fully charged, it can go up to 100km. This bike has state-of-the-art keyless technology which means you can unlock the bike by NFSC of your Smartphone. In addition, 80 percent of the bike's battery can be charged in just 1 hour.
Although the specification and design of the electric bike attracts the customers, the main problem is the price of the bike. The price of the bike is 39900 Euros without tax. Then the price of the on-road bike will be around 50,000 euros which is equal to the price of a Tesla model 3. Also, those who are booking the bike will have to pay 1000 Euros to get the bike this year.
While it is not clear exactly when this high-end e-bike will be available in the Indian market, it can be expected that over time and in the light of customer demand, the bike will be available in the Bangladeshi market.
