Dayang DY50 Motorcycle Ownership review by Alam

Dayang DY50

I love bike from my childhood. My father bought a bike when I was 7 years old. That was Yamaha 100cc. From that moment, I wanted to ride bike. I have learned to ride first when I was 12. I joined to a job after finishing my study, after then started to do business. I live in a town. I go to my village on every holiday to meet my parents. It is 32km highway bus journey then 4km village road. It is really painful to to cross this 4km on foot. So then I feel a personal vehicle for me. I have no enough money to buy a new bike. So, I decided to buy a second hand(used) motorcycle. My friend Toslim live in Manda, Naogaon and he informed me that he can arrange a used bike for me. One day I wen to Manda along with my another friend Polash. Polash is a great expert about motorcycle :). At the evening we went for to see the bike. It was Dayang DY50. Looked like a new bike. No single scratch on body although it was 3years used bike. The owner of that bike was a school teacher and he drive the bike with lots of care. Engine condition was very good with smooth sound. All papers are OK and up to date. I bought the bike with taka 40,000.00. My first own bike. Totally different feelings. After purchase the bike, I make a servicing for it. And after this, no parts need to change for next 1 year.

To sharing my experiences about this motorcycle, please lets go for its specs:
Engine: 1 Cylinder, 4Strokes, Air-cooled.
CC: 49cc
Power: 3.8Kw at 8500 rpm
Torque: 4.8 N.m at 6500 rpm
Top Speed: 70 KM/H
Brakes: Both are Drum
Wheels: Spoke

My Experiences
I have used this bike to move in the town and to go my village. I got 60km/h in the highway. It was a light weight bike, so I was careful to make over speed. It performed very well in the village road even when the road was muddy. I have ride many times with pillion with comfort.

I have used the bike around 1 year and it served me very well. It was like a friend. I was also careful to my friend. I cleaned it everyday night after finishing my ride. Get a water wash in couple of month from servicing center. I changed its engine oil after every 1000km. To check the air of tires, plug, chain etc regularly. I got the fuel in a selected filling station to ensure better fuel.

I sold the bike after one year of purchase. Some reasons are behind to sold the bike. I was little taller to use this bike, because it's height is low. I felt little pain on my back when I ride more than 20-30km. I also felt discomfort to run with pillion on the highway. So, I feel that I need a bigger bike than it. So, I decided to sell it. I sold the bike with the same price of purchase, that means taka 40,000.00.

Now I am sharing positive and negative experiences of this bike. It is totally my experiences.

Positive Sides
Low fuel consumption
Very suitable for aged people and who prefer to ride slower.
Comfortable to use as a commuter bike.
It seems to me that it was a stronger bike.

Negative Sides
To ride more than 30-40km is really boring and painful.
It is a light weight bike, so feels shaking more.
Headlight power seems poor.

I think it is a great bike within this price range, specially who wants to ride in a town or in a village within short distance. I love to my first love till now.
